Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe Upon your arrival at Entebbe International Airport, your host will greet you. Transfer to your hotel, which is a 5-minute to 2-hour drive to Kampala depending on traffic. Don't forget to exchange currency. Check-in and enjoy your dinner and overnight stay. Day 2: Depart for Bwindi Impenetrable Forest After an early breakfast, check out at 7:00 AM. Don't forget your camera and extra batteries. Drive via Mpambire Drum Market and the Equator line. Enjoy lunch at Agip Motel or Igongo Cultural Museum Mbarara. Continue your journey through the picturesque hills of western Uganda, arriving in Bwindi late afternoon. Check-in at your chosen hotel for dinner and an overnight stay. Day 3: Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest Wake up early for breakfast and then report to the ranger station before 8:00 AM for registration and a talk by one of the rangers. The guides will lead you through the jungle to track the gorillas. Be prepared, as this trek can take from 30 minutes to 5-6 hours. A reasonable degree of fitness is required, along with sturdy walking shoes. Sit in the forest among the gorillas, listening to their communication, and marvel at the dominant male, the Silverback. Return to your accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay (Full Board).
Day 4: Departure to Queen Elizabeth National Park After a leisurely breakfast at 8:00 or 9:00 AM, depart for Queen Elizabeth National Park through Ishasha. You have the chance to visit the Pangolin rescue project and spot tree-climbing lions, buffaloes, elephants, bushpigs, and various ungulates. Queen Elizabeth National Park offers a stunning landscape of volcanic craters, grassy plains, tropical forests, and giant lakes connected by a channel inhabited by abundant hippos. It's home to nearly 100 types of mammals and 606 different bird species, including the peculiar shoebill. After lunch at Mweya, embark on a launch cruise on the Kazinga Channel, which is known for its large hippo population and other wildlife. Then head to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay (Full Board). Day 5: Return to Kampala/Entebbe with Chimp Tracking Option Arrange an early wakeup call at 6:30 AM for breakfast and the option to head to Kyambura Gorge in search of chimps. The gorge is also home to red-tailed monkeys, black & white colobus monkeys, giant forest hogs, and diverse birdlife. Alternatively, visit Hamukungu fishing village, basket weavers, or Katwe Salt mines. Katwe Salt mines have sustained livelihoods dating back to the 16th century, and Lake George's Ramsar migratory bird site hosts flamingoes and other migrants from October to May. Return to Kampala or Entebbe for dinner and an overnight stay (6-7 hours drive, Bed & Breakfast). Day 6: Departure Depending on your departure time, you may want to visit the crafts market for souvenirs before transferring to Entebbe International Airport for your onward flight (Bed & Breakfast).
