Suzan Kerunen, known as the "Alur Queen," is a renowned Ugandan singer whose captivating music transcends linguistic boundaries, incorporating Alur-Jonam, Kiswahili, English, French, and Arabic. Rooted in her Nebbi-Junam and Zombo palwo heritage, her songs feature a fusion of East African and West African influences, showcasing zouk, Congolese, and afro-soul grooves. Through her music, Kerunen boldly emphasizes cultural unity, breaking down barriers and promoting messages of peace and love.

The festival offers a comprehensive representation of Uganda's cultural heritage, featuring creative, sustainable, and distinct music from the Pearl of Africa.The 'Bridges' initiative, originating in Altdorf, Germany, was inspired by Guenther Krausser,a German enthusiast who, after experiencing Gorilla tracking and immersing in East African culture, sought to bridge cultures through art and education. In 2023, Susan and her Ugandan artists participated in a cultural exchange in Germany, culminating in the "Sound of Bridges" grand finale. This event showcased collaborations between local bands, the Pearl Rhythm Collective, and a guest band from Nigeria.In 2024, the German team is invited to Uganda for a reciprocal program during the 'Pearl Rhythm Festival.'

This initiative aims to facilitate cultural exchange, with guests and artists from Altdorf, accompanied by the Mayor, sharing skills and experiencing indigenous Ugandan cultures. Their itinerary, supported by Maleng Travel, encompasses visits to indigenous communities, offering firsthand experiences of art, culture, wildlife, apes, primates, and the enchanting Ugandan scenery.
